Testimonials

I love Crossfit Bishop. I am the kind of girl that isn't content with 30 minutes of "cardio" on a bike, or a step aerobics class. I like the full body burn, the opportunity to compete, and most of all the surprise that comes with doing something you didn't think you could do. Crossfit is the master at all of this. Crossfit breaks your body down so it can build back up into a better stronger one. It challenges your mind when you do three more reps than you thought possible. And it teaches your heart all you are capable of. Colin is a great instructor. I’ve never had a personal trainer but it is awesome having someone watching your form so closely, it makes you feel safe knowing that someone is looking out for you during challenging exercises so that you can push yourself a little further. Crossfit Bishop has got Colins intensity and attention to detail, Mollys inspiring fitness and kind spirit, a group of incredibly fun and fit people who are as psyched as you and an adorable baby too. Its certainly one of my favorite places to be in Bishop!!

Crossfit Works!  As a young buck, flush with time to get out in the mountains, I felt strongly that the best training for climbing and backcountry skiing was... climbing and backcountry skiing.  Now I'm by no means the busiest guy, nor do I have the most sedentary job, but I've felt the pinch of time in recent months.  I've spent many days over these busy months with Colin at Crossfit Bishop.   Colin energizes the classes, exudes knowledge and confidence, and successfully walks the fine line between motivation and all out pushing.  I just had my first opportunity in months to test my new Crossfitted bod'.  I can say that the total body training and the fresh, varied workouts make a huge difference!  The strength and endurance gains from Crossfit really shined on a recent one-day, monstrous exploratory ski tour in the High Sierra. I look forward to continuing to train and continuing to express strength gains.

I really appreciate all the dedication, knowledge, and energy you and Molly are so generous in giving. Your trained, focused attention and interest in supporting not only my fitness goals, but maximizing the quality of my performance, keeps me engaged and committed. It is inspiring to be around and has been a great catalyst fueling a new level in my health and fitness. It has always been a priority for me, but sometimes the conditions just have to be right to step up the quality and intensity. I suppose much like a CF workout...So, really, thanks. You guys are providing something very worthy to the Bishop community.

CrossFit is a different kind of fitness program that requires much more than gripping a bar and hammering out concentration curls. The complexity and variety of the movements, coupled with the intensity makes for a compelling system of improving one's physical and mental fitness. This is not accomplished without expert, careful, selfless coaching which Colin Broadwater provides.

Long, but not as bad as expected. Glide fit in two laps, Kevin got about one and a half, Margo about 200 yards, Lola finished the whole thing in two hours and thirty four minutes, and I came in at about one hour fifty one minutes. Consensus was that leg destruction from all the broad jumps was the main consideration, followed up by serious abdominal strain from pulling the knees up and out of the push up position. Overall, a very unique whole body beatdown...

Hurt me this one did. Would I be a wimp to suggest gloves for this one? I think the frigid cold air flowing into the lungs hurt more than anything else; brain felt like a popsicle. A nice freezing beat down to begin the year!

The first thing that I would like to say is many, many thanks to my brother Marco for cheering us on from the moment the clock started to the finish. I honestly don't know what I would have done if Marco had not brought me gatorade and a snickers bar, completely saved me! I cant thank you enough! You were such a big help with keeping me hydrated and fueled up, thank you.
I also want to give much thanks to my amazing husband Phil who went to check on me at the track after he ran a 13.5 mile run. From the moment he got out of the car he yelled "Go Lola!" the sound of his voice was a dose of energy for me. He ran across the field to me and had a mouthfull of words of encouragement. He then started to do a some burpees along the side of me. Not too long from that, Margo walked accross the field and also was a great supporter and did 200 yards of burpees next to me and Phil and she too had just ran 13.5 miles! Kevin also came along and joined us to almost the finish. There was a great support group and once to the grand finale, all my burpee/jumper buddies, stepped off to the side and let me have the honor to do the last burpee and jump to the finish. So happy to be done! I hope you all realize what amazing supporters you were! Many thanks to Barbara and Kevin too for cheering us from start to finish.
Definately thought it was going to be worse than what I thought, dont get me wrong my body is completely thrashed! Got home and took a nice hot shower and washed out all the dirt from my belly button, so full of dirt!
Colin you did amazing on the mile burpee, was hoping to catch up to you(ya right), but once you lapped me once, I knew it would be impossible!
What a fun happy new years day!

Great job this morning to everyone! Wish I could have been part of the morning crew but Naya had finger painting to do and a nap to take part in!!! Lola and Colin were inspiring to say the least.

I was so inspired by the morning crew that I went out around 4pm (with word that a few others might be out there) and low and behold KEVIN AND BARBARA were out cranking out the burpee mile. I think Kevin did it in about 1.5hrs and Barbara in 2:04? So awesome. They stuck around to cheer me on, and brought me coffee with SUGAR IN IT!!!! Kept me going and I finished in about 1:39. Gloves SAVED me but still had the "screaming barfies" of the hands that is just now easing. Next time we'll have food and hot chocolate for everyone!!! Thank you thank you thank you, Kevin and Barbara, for hanging with me. Very cool.
