I love Crossfit Bishop. I am the kind of girl that isn't content with 30 minutes of "cardio" on a bike, or a step aerobics class. I like the full body burn, the opportunity to compete, and most of all the surprise that comes with doing something you didn't think you could do. Crossfit is the master at all of this. Crossfit breaks your body down so it can build back up into a better stronger one. It challenges your mind when you do three more reps than you thought possible. And it teaches your heart all you are capable of. Colin is a great instructor. I’ve never had a personal trainer but it is awesome having someone watching your form so closely, it makes you feel safe knowing that someone is looking out for you during challenging exercises so that you can push yourself a little further. Crossfit Bishop has got Colins intensity and attention to detail, Mollys inspiring fitness and kind spirit, a group of incredibly fun and fit people who are as psyched as you and an adorable baby too. Its certainly one of my favorite places to be in Bishop!!

Crossfit Works! As a young buck, flush with time to get out in the mountains, I felt strongly that the best training for climbing and backcountry skiing was... climbing and backcountry skiing. Now I'm by no means the busiest guy, nor do I have the most sedentary job, but I've felt the pinch of time in recent months. I've spent many days over these busy months with Colin at Crossfit Bishop. Colin energizes the classes, exudes knowledge and confidence, and successfully walks the fine line between motivation and all out pushing. I just had my first opportunity in months to test my new Crossfitted bod'. I can say that the total body training and the fresh, varied workouts make a huge difference! The strength and endurance gains from Crossfit really shined on a recent one-day, monstrous exploratory ski tour in the High Sierra. I look forward to continuing to train and continuing to express strength gains.

I really appreciate all the dedication, knowledge, and energy you and Molly are so generous in giving. Your trained, focused attention and interest in supporting not only my fitness goals, but maximizing the quality of my performance, keeps me engaged and committed. It is inspiring to be around and has been a great catalyst fueling a new level in my health and fitness. It has always been a priority for me, but sometimes the conditions just have to be right to step up the quality and intensity. I suppose much like a CF workout...So, really, thanks. You guys are providing something very worthy to the Bishop community.

CrossFit is a different kind of fitness program that requires much more than gripping a bar and hammering out concentration curls. The complexity and variety of the movements, coupled with the intensity makes for a compelling system of improving one's physical and mental fitness. This is not accomplished without expert, careful, selfless coaching which Colin Broadwater provides.

Thank Gawd tomorrow's a rest day for me!!! haw!
tomorrow being this WOD...just to clarify...
Meghan is animal! 2 minute+ handstands!
Between her and Paul's athleticism, I'm just going to start calling them "The Incredibles." God knows what special powers the kids have...
Nice work. Inspiring to say the least. And that Lola never quits! Glad I made it, even late...
Okay Colin, five stitches later, I can officially tell you why I am afraid of box jumps. You might argue that it was a little silly to be jumping onto the concrete barrier at the end of my shift last night, and you would be right. However.
Meghan was awsome this morning, she did a 2 minute hand stand once and then before going home she did another one for 2 minutes and then some. Amazing!!
Can't wait to feel confident to walk on my hands!!!! It was amazing seeing Colin walk on his hands from the garage to the end of the drive way!
It was fun this morning, good job everyone!
Check out this progression for the shoulders...i might start subbing this for kicking up to handstand in my warmups...
handstand wall walking
http://www.gymnasticbodies.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1392
okay, Coach Summer says I'm dreaming until I can hold a static wall stand for 1-2 minutes...always something to work on!
Molly's first muscle up occurred this morning at 9:30 am!!! After pulling through one and not being able to fully extend the dip, she rested up and cranked one out to the top in near perfect style.
Sarah!!! Maybe we need to rubberize the town for your CrossFit needs. We're creating a bunch of crazed animals running around town handstanding, jumping, cartwheeling, and sprinting!!! Scary, but scars are definitely cool though, maybe you could get a matching barbed wire tattoo.
Damn Chris. That HS wall running looks pretty convincing. I've really been trying to strengthen into HSPUs through Colin's warmup and it's helping, but they still seem nearly impossible. The write up on that sounds pretty convincing to improve in this area. Colin?
Nice job on the handstands Meghan and on the mucleup Molly!
Rubber edges would definitely be helpful everywhere I go. And Molly, awesome work! I can't wait to see it in person!
Molly!!! Dang girl! Way to go....Wow, can't wait to see you do it. Crossfit Games watch out, we've got our muscle up babe!
Yeah, I checked out the wall walk before this mornings class. Will definitely help with handstand walking, but I'm not sure about it helping push ups. Very challenging movement in itself. Bottom line is you need to be taking weight on your arms very, very often.
Meghan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 minutes is 2 hard. 40 seconds and I was down, making excuses for my inability to hold it longer. Can't wait to try again later today. The "incredibles" it is. I was wrong about not being sore from the track work out. So sore.
Chris, I am psyched about that wall walking stuff. Haven't tried it yet but since I am not even close to walking 2 feet on my hands, it will be fun to try. The gymnastic cert would be awesome to go to.... definitely the stuff I get most psyched about and addicted to working on.
Way to go for the jump Sarah. Was it right on the shin? I guess an open wound and stitches is better than a sprained ankle????? In my opinion.
Sarah...don't worry, I donated four boxes covered in soft plushy carpet yesterday. No excuses anymore, mwahahahaha!

Muscle Up and Make Out!
Oh ya. CrossFit has been honing my excuses skill.
Constantly varied excuses across broad performance and motivational domains....such as
"I was so tired from murdering Fran that I skipped the pull up fest" or "I'm really working on my double under right now, otherwise I'd join you for the 400m walking lunges"
Yeah, Molly, pretty much right on the shin. I guess it was fairly deep, given that I nearly passed out when I saw it. Oops. Luckily, I was about a minute walk from the ER. It is just enough above my ski boot that I will try to ski tomorrow, though I had to bail on that today. We'll see, and you're right, sprained ankles might be worse!
